William Vernon “Bill” Waggoner, 75, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the Advent Health Center in Orlando FL. He was born June 10, 1943 in Ashland, the son of the late Estill and Doris Anders Waggoner. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas P. Waggoner. He was retired from AK Steel Co. and the CEO of the Greater Kentucky Corporation. He was a U. S. Army veteran and a member of Wildwood Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Susan “Vicki” Minor Waggoner; two daughters, Nichole (Joe) Waggoner Cook and Marnie Waggoner of Ashland; one son, Jason Waggoner of Midway , KY; one brother, Tony (Paulette) Waggoner of Ashland; five grandchildren, Haleigh Waggoner, Enock Evans, Isaack Evans, Elizabeth Cook, Hunter Campbell and one great grandchild, Charleigh. Private funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 19, 2019 at Miller Funeral Home by Rev. Tom Leach. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park, with military services conducted by the Kenova American Legion, Post 93. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5455 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43214.
