William Joseph "Bill" Stewart, 86, of Ashland, passed away Sept. 12, 2014, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born Dec. 11, 1927, in Isaban, W.Va., to the late Charlie and Lula Smith Stewart. He was also preceded in death by a son, William Joseph Stewart Jr., and sisters Theada Beavers and Iredith "Coug" Mussetter.
He was the owner of P&S Service Auto Repair and an adviser and member of Ashland Community and Technical College mechanics. He was a member of BPO Elks Lodge 350 and a very devoted member of First United Methodist Church for 65 years. William served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Marie Litzenberger Stewart; daughters Tiffani Stafford and husband C.J. of Mount Sterling and Ella Mae McCullouch and husband Roger of New Orleans; a son, Barkley Shane Wagner and wife Stacey of Milton, W.Va.; sisters Minnie Spivey of Tazewell, Va., and Naomi Davis of Dayton, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at Ashland First United Methodist Church by the Rev. John Street. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum in Ashland, with military rites by Kenova American Legion Post 93.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church.
