ASHLAND - Walker Keathley, 81, of Ashland, passed away Saturday evening, May 21, 2011, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born Nov. 9, 1929, in Harold, son of the late Bert and Lizzie White Keathley. He was an active servant at Christ United Methodist Church in Ashland. He loved gardening and fishing, but more than anything else, he was a devoted husband and father. Walker retired from C&O Railroad after 46 years of service and was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Thursa Dotson Keathley of Ashland. He is also survived by a daughter, Terri Blevins of Raceland; two nephews, Harry Keathley and Randall Keathley; and a niece, Zshawn Jessie.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bryan D. Keathley; three brothers, Levi, Watt and Kermit Keathley; and a sister, Edna Keathley.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel with Pastor Michael McAlister officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
