Virginia "Jenny" Knuckles - 1925-2010
Virginia "Jenny" Knuckles, 85, of Ashland, Ky., died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born Jan. 31, 1925, in Ashland, a daughter of the late John McDaniel and Edna BoCook McDaniel.
In addition, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Kenneth Knuckles and Harold Newton Rush; and a special cousin, Carl McDaniel.
She retired in 1987 as an examiner with the State of Kentucky Department of Human Resources after 17 years. She was of the Baptist faith, an alternate delegate at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Ill., and a former member of the White Shrine and Eastern Star.
Surviving are six sons, Terry and Eloise Rush and Steve Rush, all of Flatwoods, Ky., Jay and Sheri Knuckles of Huntington, W.Va., Ken and Sherri Knuckles of Mount Juliet, Tenn., Kirby Knuckles of Raceland, Ky., and Rick and Peg Knuckles of Bellevue, Ohio; two daughters, Sandy and Bernie Larsen of Franklin, Wis., and Pam Worley of Flatwoods; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and special friends David Lee, Lisa Lara, Gussie Pratt and Vicki Fosson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland by Dr. Dale Maddy and Kevin Willis. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 at the funeral home.
