THOMAS PHIPPS

Thomas C. "Tommy" Phipps, 70, of Ashland, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Tom was born July 18, 1946, in Ashland, a son of the late Jack Racer and Helen Cole Phipps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kristian Phipps; and a daughter, Mary Helen Phipps. Tom was Vice Pesident of People's Bank Insurance Company, a member of the Ashland Alliance, Ashland Kiwanis Club, Ashland Elks Lodge and the Shriners. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Miller Phipps; a son, Charles Thomas (Kat) Phipps of Ashland; a granddaughter, Tiffanie Phipps of Lexington; and a host of cousins. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan 11, 2017, at First Presbyerian Chruch in Ashland with The Rev. Joel Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland. There will not be any visitation.
