Talmadge E. Debord, 92, of Grayson, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born June 1, 1924, in Elliott County, a son of the late Grover Cleveland and Sarah Mauk Debord.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Debord; a daughter, Pamela Diane Debord; three brothers, Junior, Howard and James Debord; and two sisters, Vaughn Gearhart and Wilma Gibson.
Mr. Debord was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a 2nd Class Petty Officer during World War II. He was a member of Kilgore Methodist Church and a station supervisor for Kentucky Power. He was a retired minister of Grassland United Methodist Church.
He is survived by three sisters, Kathleen Russell of Grayson, Lois Delaney of Augusta, Ga., and Phyllis Osbourne of Marion, Ind.; three special great-great-nieces, Kyser Marie Stephens, Parker Jade Stephens and Meredith Dickison; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at Kilgore United Methodist Church with Minister Fred Wiles officiating. Entombment will be in Rose Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 93.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson and after noon Saturday at the church.
