ASHLAND - Sharon Lynn Clevenger, 64, formerly of Ashland, went to be the Lord on Jan. 13, 2012, while at her home in Columbus, Ohio, after a 13-year battle with cancer.
She was born in Montgomery, W.Va., on March 2, 1947.
She married the love of her life, Roger Clevenger, on Aug. 26, 1967, with whom she made a loving home in Summit for their two sons, Vic and Mike.
After graduating from Morehead State University, she went on to teach and be an inspiration to everyone who knew her because of her faith and accomplishments. Her greatest love was the Lord and her family and she wasn't bashful telling you about either.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Maude Holbrook; one brother, William Roger Holbrook, SSG in the U.S Army.
She is survived by her loving husband, Roger Clevenger of Columbus; two sons, James Victor Clevenger and Michael Alan "Mike" Clevenger, both of Kissimmee, Fla.; five grandchildren, Jeff, Matthew, Dylan, Elisabeth and Rebecca; two sisters, Barbara Clevenger of Marion, Ohio, and Kaye Wing of Columbus; and one brother, James "Mickey" Holbrook of Columbus.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
