Sandra Waddell

Sandra Lynn Waddell of Ashland, Kentucky joined her Lord in heaven on Saturday September 21st, 2019. She was seventy when the Lord laid her heart problems to rest.
Sandra was born November 2, 1948 and graduated from Paul Blazer High School. She loved serving those in need as a Rehabilitation & Assistive Technology Specialist and was retired. She enjoyed getting to know people, flowers, music, colorful clothes, coffee with the Class of ‘66 and loving on her family.
We will always remember her stories and how much she loved making people laugh. She was a very understanding and compassionate person, especially to someone who needed it most. We’re going to miss her hugs, laughter, intelligent conversation, and unconditional love.
She was preceded in death by her parents Chloa Barker & Homer Waddell, her brothers Darrell Waddell & J. L. Waddell, her brother-in-law Bill Cooley, and her daughter-in-law Amanda Kiser Tackett. She will be deeply missed by her sister Shirlene Cooley and brother Charlie Hammonds. She loved her children with all her heart: Claudius Tackett (Laurie), Benjamin Tackett (Carolyn) and Amy Compton (Shane). Her grandchildren Rachel, Benjamin, Sadie, Luke, Aaron, Chloe, Alex, Ella, Thomas, Abigail, Audrey, and Judson will remember their wonderful Nana loving them “bunches and bunches.” She cherished her host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 25th at 11 a.m. in Ashland at Miller Funeral Home with Bro. Randy May officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
