Ruth Perry - 1929-2008
Ruth D. Wells Perry, 78, of Westwood, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2008, in Community Hospice Care Center following a brief illness.
Ruth was born May 1, 1929, in Eunice, W.Va., and was the last surviving child of 10 born to the late Peter and Margaret Taylor Lares.
Ruth previously worked for Grants Department Store, Hills Department Store, the Cinderella Dress Factory and the telephone company in Frankfort, Ky. She was a former member of Order of Eastern Star and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Otis William Rhodes, Edward "Jerry" Wells and Charles "Buck" Perry; four brothers; and five sisters.
She is survived by four sons, William "Bill" Rhodes and his wife, Shelia, of Westwood, Robert "Bob" Rhodes and his wife, Jean, of Ironville, Scott Wells of Ashland and Dan Wells and his wife, Diane, of Westwood; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be by the Rev. Mike Rice at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum in Ashland.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today and an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.
