RUTH RICE

Ruth May Rice, 80 of Hopkinsville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, in Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, of natural causes. She was born Sept. 22, 1936, in Ashland, the daughter of the late Robert and Verna Rice Duvall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eight siblings. She is survived by her husband, Roy Rice Jr. of Hopkinsville; one son, Paris Rice of Ashland; three daughters, Billie Greer of Hopkinsville, Terri Cassell of Campbellsville and Vivian Stubbs of Nashville, Tenn.; one brother, Michael Duvall of Kentucky; three sisters, Kay Memmer of Ashland, Betty McKnight of Florida and Wilma Murphy of Kentucky; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A service of remembrance will be at noon Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at the Steen Funeral Home - Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland with Mike Cassell officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to steenfuneralhome.com.
