Ruby Freeman - 1924-2008
Ruby Nelson Freeman, 84, of Westwood, Ky., died Wednesday evening at her home of an extended illness.
Ruby was born March 12, 1924, in Greenup County, Ky., a daughter of the late Samuel W. and Dolly E. Jackson Nelson. She was a loving mother, homemaker, and wonderful caregiver to everyone. She was loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Freeman and 10 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by one son, Robert Dale Freeman (Sue) of Westwood; two daughters Ruby E. "Lee" Freeman of Ashland, Ky., and Lenora Anne Kelly (Charles) of Chillicothe, Ohio; six grandchildren, Leigh Anne Thomas, Robby Freeman, Cari Freeman, and Andy Freeman all of Ashland, and Erin Kelly and Kayla Kelly of Chillicothe; 11 great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Ruby also reared three children, Lonnie Robbins, Jack Robbins, and Vicky Lynn Clark, all of Ashland.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland by the Rev. Mike Rice. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
