Rosemary Smith - 1928-2008
Rosemary Smith, 80, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, in Kingsbrook Lifecare Center.
She was born June 28, 1928, in Elkhorn City, Ky., the daughter of the late Maude Elswick Carraway.
She was a former employee of Thrift Drug Store and Woolco Department Store. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She and her late husband enjoyed square dancing and bowling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Myrl Smith, who died in 1993; and a brother, Richard Hatcher.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan (Gary) Parsons and Rebecca (Martin) Leake of Ashland; a brother, George (Barbara) Carraway of Ashland; and two grandchildren, Heather (Justin) Seymour of Burlington, Ky., and Jason Parsons of Lexington, Ky.
She was also preceded in death be her beloved pet, Bobby.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland by the Rev. Dale Maddy. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4338 13th St., Ashland, KY 41101.
