Ronald Reliford

Ronald Eugene Reliford (1941-2008)
Ronald Eugene Reliford (Ronnie/Teddy), 67, was born in Ashland, Ky., on Aug. 13, 1941. He died Wednesday morning in St. Mary's Medical Center from a long illness. He was preceded by his mother and father, Jesse and Clyde Reliford, and one daughter, Stacy Reliford.
Ronnie was a veteran and served over two years in the Air Force and honorably discharged in 1963. He was a retired journeyman pipefitter by trade. He enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking and racing. His passion was playing guitar, singing and writing songs. He enjoyed spending time entertaining his friends and family with his music. He was a member of the Salvation Army Church in Huntington, W.Va.
Ronnie is survived by his longtime companion, Dawn Schroeder; his sister, Jacqueline Bush of Florida; Cathy Reliford, daughter, of Florida, and her companion, Judy; Robin Olson, daughter, spouse Dave, of Wisconsin; Steve Reliford, son, and Kim, of Ashland; Dale Reliford, son, his wife, Kim of Ohio; Ronald Reliford, son, of Ashland; Kelly Hendrickson, daughter, of Ashland; Madison Reliford, daughter, of Ohio; JoAnne Fugett, special friend, of Ashland; Mike and Rena Smoot and their children Kelly Jenkins and Kory Smoot; Norman Schroeder and his girlfriend Pam; Ronnie's grandchildren, Eric Jardine, Chris Jardine, Lindsey Olson, Tyler Reliford, Joshua Reliford, Sean Reliford, Jesse Reliford, Noah Reliford, Gavin Reliford, Haley Hendrickson, and Caden Reliford; Paula Holcomb, niece, of Florida; Joe Bush, nephew, of Kentucky; deceased nephew, William (Billy) Bush; and Betty Huff, mother of Cathy, Robin, Steve and Dale.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff of St. Mary's Medical Center and SarahCare for the loving care they provided to Ronnie.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 12, 2008, at Wallace Funeral Home, 1159 Central Ave., Barboursville, W.Va.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
