Roberta Felty

Mrs. Roberta N. Hunnicutt Felty, 77, of Ashland, passed away on June 24, 2012, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

She was born on Sept. 30, 1934, in Carter County, the daughter of the late Marvin and Beulah Kouns Hunnicutt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gabe Felty Jr.; and her infant sister, Iona Hunnicutt.

Mrs. Felty was a beloved mother and granny, a former school teacher and a homemaker. She was a member of the Beech Street Christian Church in Ashland.

Surviving are her daughters, Angie (Steve) Bowker and Jeanette (Les) Smith; son, Kyle Felty; grandchildren, Brandon (Sarah) Bowker, Erin Felty, Brooke (Jimmy) Regan and Valeri Smith; great-grandchildren, Brett Smith, Blake Smith and Lily Regan; sisters, Dreama (Jim) Adams, Violet (Robert) Carter, Jackie (Milan) Kitchen and Lacreeda Kouns; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012, at the Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland. The Rev. Kenneth Vaughn will officiate. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.

Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
