Richard Sands "Rich" Robinson III, 30, of Ashland, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Rich was born Sept. 24, 1982, in Ashland, to Olive Terry-Robinson of Westwood and the late Richard Sands Robinson Jr.
He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman who loved spending quality time at Granny's pond fishing and was a member of the Northeast Kentucky Fish and Game Association. Rich was appointed by Gov. Paul Patton as a Kentucky colonel. Most recently he worked in the automotive industry as an auto body painter. He attended Bridges Christian Church in Russell.
Rich was also preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Richard Sands Robinson, and his maternal grandparents, Leonard and Goldie Terry.
Left behind to cherish his memory are a loving and devoted family, including his precious wife, Johnda Jenae Lewis-Robinson of Ashland; his dog, Diesel, and cat, Bella, aka "Baby Cat"; his paternal grandmother, Patricia Ann Robinson of Ashland; a very special uncle and aunt, Granville "Granny" and Kim Robinson-Neal of Ashland; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and a host of close friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods with words of comfort delivered by Pastor Todd Young. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, April 6, 2013, at the funeral home.
