Richard Darrell Hoffman, 85, of Ashland, Ky. passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018.  He was born on April 30, 1933 in Cushing, Oklahoma to the late Estal T. and Grace Catron Hoffman.   In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister,  Grace Ellen Childers.
He was retired from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union #317 with 46 years of service.   Richard was a U.S. Army Veteran and served proudly in the Korean conflict and was a member of Bridges Christian Church.  He also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and River Cities Harvest.  Richard was an Eagle Scout, Scoutmaster and received the prestigous Silver Beaver Award.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Judy Porter Hoffman of Ashland;  his son Stephen R. Hoffman and wife Linda of Ashland;  Grandchildren Amie Schwendeman of Ashland, Kelli Schrode of Ironton, OH and Jonathan Hoffman of Columbus,OH;  great grandchildren Christian Hoffman, Nathan Inman, Ty Laughman, Levi Laughman  Toby Schwendeman and James Schwendeman;  and his 7 year old canine fur baby Annie Rae.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel at 1:00 PM and will be officiated by Pastor Tom Lawson and Pastor Kevin Fraley.    Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park where Military Rites will be performed by Kenova American Legion Post #93.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM.
