Raymond Leo McGuire, 85, passed away on May 9, 2012, in Mandeville, La.
Ray was previously a lifelong resident of Carter County, where he grew up and was involved in several businesses, including First National Bank, Grayson Motor Sales, The Bank Josephine, Grayson Loan Co., Bagby Lumber Co. and Citizens Deposit Bank of Vanceburg.
Ray leaves behind his wife, Glenna Ruth McGuire; four sons, Mark McGuire (Patty) of Mandeville, Pat McGuire of Grayson, Michael McGuire (Leslie) of Mandeville and Mickey McGuire (Mary) of Prestonsburg; nine grandchildren, Chase McGuire of Lexington, Megan McGuire of Louisville, Tara McGuire of Lexington, Ty McGuire (Becky) of Mandeville, Drew McGuire of Mandeville, Erika Clark of Nicholasville, Jennifer Tringale of Fort Worth, Texas, Audrey McGuire of Fort Thomas and Adam McGuire of Fort Thomas; and four great-grandchildren, Alec, Rachel and Averi, all of Nicholasville, and Lily of Mandeville.
Raymond was a pilot and loved flying and golf. He was licensed to fly airplanes and helicopters. Raymond had a farm on Buffalo Creek where he raised cattle and the family had many great summers. His parents, L.R. McGuire and Dell McGuire, grew up on Sutton Creek and Carter City. Raymond also leaves behind a sister, Cleo McGuire of Ashland, and a brother, E.E. McGuire.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 14 at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson by Kyle Burchett. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
