Raymond "Pup" Daniels, 57, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland following an extended illness.
Ray was born Feb. 24, 1956, in Ashland, a son of Christine Daniels of Ashland and the late Morgan Daniels.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Penny Horton Daniels; a stepgranddaughter, Missy Davis; and two sisters, Cathy Kendrick and Brenda Daniels.
He is also survived by a brother, Jim (Wanda) Daniels of Ashland; a sister, Melinda Sublett of Ashland; stepdaughters Suzy (Shea) Horton of Ashland and Kim Thacker (Randy) of Greenup; a stepson, Charles M. "Marty" Horton II; and a host of nieces, nephews and grandchildren, who will miss him greatly.
Ray was of the Baptist faith and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to kayak, hunt and fish. He was a former employee of the surgical team at St. Mary's Hospital for many years before retiring.
A memorial service for friends and family will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013, in the chapel at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Arrangements are under the direction of Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland.
