Priscilla Hurn - 1926-2008
Priscilla Alexander Hurn, 82, of Chattanooga, Tenn., a former resident of Raceland, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell.
She was born April 9, 1926, in Raceland, a daughter of the late George Washington Alexander and Rosi Bentley Alexander. She was a homemaker and a member of the South Shore Old Regular Baptist Church in South Shore.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Eugene Hurn, on Aug. 21, 1987; three brothers, Tom Alexander, Ralph Alexander and Cecil Alexander; and four sisters, Carrie Adams, Alta Martin, Ollie Alexander and Lorraine Alexander.
Survivors include four daughters, Barbara S. "David" Edmondson of Chattanooga, Sylvia Morrison of Raceland, Martha Mays of Worthington and Jo Ann Cassell of Punta Gorda, Fla.; two sons and their wives, Ralph "Ada" Hurn of Ashland and Edward "Laverne" Hurn of Westwood; 26 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church in Raceland by the Rev. Anthony Keaton. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Services are under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore.
