April 24, 1945 — March 31, 2013

Poe Jeffrey Williams Jr., 67, of Ashland, husband of Ann Hall Williams, went to heaven on Sunday, March 31, 2013, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland following a 13-year battle with kidney cancer.

Jeffrey was born April 24, 1945, a son of Beryle Williams of Ashland and the late Poe Jeffrey Williams Sr.

Jeff retired after 37 years of service with AK Steel Corp., served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army, was a 1963 graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School and was a faithful member of Meade Station Church of God. Jeff enjoyed spending time with family and church friends and was especially fond of a good round of golf.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Dawn Williams.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 48 years, Ann Hall Williams, and his mother, Beryle Williams, are two daughters, Heather Lee Bennett and husband Jason of Indianapolis and Holly Lynn Williams of Dayton, Ohio; three grandchildren, Holly Elizabeth Porter, Dakota Bennett and Willow Rose Bennett; three brothers, Randy Williams and wife Sue of Ashland, Charles Williams and wife Paula of Huntington, W.Va., and Thomas Williams of Lexington; three sisters, Vicki and husband Terry Hessler of Kettering, Ohio, Debbie and husband Jim Ketron of Denver and Dove Crum of Virginia Beach, Va.

The funeral will be at noon Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Meade Station Church of God by Pastor Rob Jordan. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum in Ashland.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland.
