CATLETTSBURG - Paul Dean Thompson, 81, of Catlettsburg, passed away Friday, April 8, 2011, at Woodland Oaks Healthcare Center.

Mr. Thompson was born April 22, 1929, in Webbville, a son of the late Grover C. and Belva Dean Thompson. Paul served his country honorably during the Korean War as staff sergeant with the 3700 Air Police Squadron in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Ashland Petroleum Co. in 1993 after 38 years of service and was a member of Chadwick Creek Baptist Church.

Paul leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Louise Rose Thompson; brothers Charles Thompson of Mount Sterling, Herbert Thompson (Martha) of Ravenswood, W.Va., and David Thompson (Frances) of Canal Winchester, Ohio; sisters Kathleen Webb of Grants, N.M., Glenna Wallin of Aberdeen, Md., and Phyllis Fyffe (Jesse) of Webbville; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was brother, June Thompson, and sisters Garnet Carroll and Emogene Bayes.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Paul Thompson will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2011, at the Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg. An inspirational message will be given by pastor Sean Manschien with William McCoy and Jessie Fyffe assisting. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The Thompson family has graciously requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Chadwicks Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 5810 Brown Lane, Catlettsburg, KY 41129.
