Norma M. Peterson, 74, of Florence, Ky., died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, in Florence Park Health Care Center.
She was born July 24, 1936, in South Charleston, W.Va., to the late Okey Graley and Sylvia Mae Dodd Graley. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Okey Graley Jr. Her husband of 50 years, Richard A. Peterson Jr., survives.
She was a former administrator of King's Daughters and Sons Retirement Home and a 35-year member of Calvary Episcopal Church. She spent seven years at Grace Episcopal Church in Florence and six years at Florence Baptist Church. She was also a member of Lioness Club and Daughters of the King.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Richard A. Peterson III and wife Sheila of Florence, Ky., Patrick A. Peterson and wife Kim of Stephens City, Va., and Christopher A. Peterson and wife Kellie of Ashland, Ky.; a daughter, Sylvia M. Handloser and husband Mark of Catlettsburg, Ky.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at Calvary Episcopal Church by the Rev. Jeff Queen. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland.
