ellie Teaford Wood, 80, of Flatwoods, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
She was born June 21, 1932, in Roanoke, Va., a daughter of the late Jacob and Bessie Reed Teaford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Mason Todd Wood; a son, William Alex Wood; and a granddaughter, Anita Leann Wood.
Mrs. Wood was a retired English and Spanish teacher who taught in Ohio and West Virginia. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ashland.
Survivors include sons Mark Allen Wood and Andrew Wood; a sister, Anna Lee Gadd; grandchildren Amber, Summer and husband Greg, Jessica, Lisa, Mark Jr., Rebecca, Drew, Kimberly and Sara; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. John Street. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
