ASHLAND - Myrl B. Hunt, 97, of Ashland, passed away Sunday evening, Aug. 4, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born July 23, 1916, in Salt Lick, a daughter of the late Charles and Dolly McClain Roberson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Hunt; one brother, Clay; and three sisters, Ann, May and Pearl.
Myrl was a former member of the First Church of God and retired after many years of service from the Daily Independent.
Survivors include a son, Charles Ronald "Ron" Hunt and wife, Betty D. Hunt, of Conroe, Texas; a grandson, Charles Phillip Hunt and wife Donna R. Hunt of Houston, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Maeve and Sophia Hunt of Houston; and two nieces, Eleanor and Ionia.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland, with Pastor Rob Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at the funeral home.
