Miriam Lucille "Ginger" Kazee, 62, of Flatwoods, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 6, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland with her loving family at her side.
She was born Sept. 15, 1950, in Ironton, Ohio, to the late Robert Hayes and Maggie Marie Jenkins-Kerns.
Miriam attended Vineyard Church of God and worked for many years as a cake decorator for Dave's Bakery in Flatwoods.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry G. Kerns.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her devoted husband, Donald Kazee of Flatwoods; three sons, Shannon Markel of Flatwoods, Tim Kazee and his wife, Hannah, of Ironton and Shawn Markel and his wife, Deanne, of Flatwoods; four grandchildren, Luke, Sam, Ivy and Logan; a sister, Angie Kerns-Tipton and her husband, Terry, of Lexington; three brothers, Robert M. Kerns and John L. Kerns, both of Ironton, and Justin Kerns of Pedro; a sister-in-law, Marsha Kerns of Kitts Hill, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends, all of whom will miss her.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods by Evangelist Nick Crum. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Visiting hours will be after 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
