Mildred Johnson

Mildred Elizabeth Johnson, 89, of Ashland, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at her residence. She was born February 22, 1929 in Louisville, Mississippi the daughter of the late Luther G. and Vera McCool Smith. She was a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother. She was of the Baptist faith, having been baptized and saved at Unity Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, L.G. Johnson, a son, First Lt. Jimmy D. Johnson, a daughter, Shirley Raye Johnson, a grandson, James Patrick Skaggs and seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Johnson Pyle and Debbie Johnson of Ashland, one grandson, Steve Skaggs and three great grandchildren, Amanda Skaggs Gambrill, Dilan Skaggs and Kelly Skaggs Wilson. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Miller Funeral Home by Jimm Smedley minister. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
