McKinley Junior Dean - 1927-2008
McKinley Junior Dean, 81, of Ashland, died Saturday at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Dean was born March 11, 1927, at Ashland a son of the late McKinley and Mary Inez Wiley Dean. He was retired from the Store and Spares Department at Armco Steel Corporation and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was a charter member and former pastor of Wayside Baptist Church in Boyd County. McKinley was preceded in death by his first wife, Hellen Browning Dean, and stepfather, R.L. Dean.
Surviving include his wife, Edwina Colliver Dean; three sons, McKinley Eric Dean of Ocala, Fla., Michael Shane Dean and wife Camille of Prichard, W.Va., and Mark Everett Dean and wife Vicki of Lawrenceville, Ga.; three daughters, Nancy D. Kiger and husband Richard, Melody Sue Meade and husband David, and Michele Lynn Dean, all of Ashland; one sister, Ella Mae Browning of Calmesa, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Wayside Baptist Church by Bro. Clyde Bolling. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
