Mary Jean Long (1929-2008)
Mary Jean Long, 78, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Saturday, July 26, 2008.
Jean was born Oct. 21, 1929, in Ashland, Ky., and moved to Port Charlotte in 1988.
Jean was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Westwood Chapter No. 569 and a member of the First Christian Church of Ashland.
Her husband, James C. Long, preceded her in death.
Jean, known to most as Aunt Jean, was a retired physician office receptionist and contributed countless volunteer hours to C.A.R.E.
She is survived by a sister, Betty Jo Castle of Ashland and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2008 at Rose Hill Mausoleum.
