Marjorie Ross

Marjorie Rush Ross of Flatwoods passed away March 31, 2013, in Trinity Station in Flatwoods.

She was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Ashland, to the late Charles A. and Georgia Reeve Donaldson Smith.

She was a 1936 graduate of Ashland High School and was a retired credit office clerk for the C.H. Parsons department store. She was a member of Mistletoe Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and was the oldest member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Ashland.

She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Herbert C. Rush in 1966 and James L. Ross in 2011.

Survivors include a daughter, Corliss Rush Tackett (Bill) of Russell; two daughters, Dorena Ross Beck, (Jon) and Becky Ross Tackett (Mark) of Newport News, Va.; a granddaughter, Heather Tackett Aldrich (Joe) of Flatwoods; and two great-grandchildren, Allison Aldrich and Aaron Aldrich of Flatwoods.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today, April 3, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Troy Poff. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.

Friends may call after 12:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
