Margaret DeTurck, 103, formerly of Ashland, died April 30, 2012, in Shannondale Retirement Center in Knoxville, Tenn.
She was born Feb. 14, 1909, in Summersville, W.Va., to Richard Daniel and Effie Leah Bayes Hall, both deceased.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl S. DeTurck (1993) and Ward C. Knotts (1938); brothers Henry Hall, Walden Hall, James Hall, William Paul Hall and Charles Hall; and sisters Mary Hall Decker, Edna Blanche Bing, Beatrice Hall, Ruth Hall, Beulah Hall and Esther Hall Byers.
Margaret was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ashland, attended Marshall University and graduated from Capital City Business College. She was an executive secretary for 35 years with Allied Chemical and for two years with the University of Kentucky.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Rick Stone. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Visitation will be after noon Saturday at the funeral home.
