Margaret Roberts - 1924-2008
Margaret Nolene Roberts, 83, of Ashland, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, in Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility.
The Catlettsburg native was born Jan. 21, 1924, the daughter of the late Hobert Robinette and Bertha Cumbo Robinette. She was the wife of 55 years to the late William Jack Roberts. She was a homemaker and a member of Whites Creek United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Women's Society and the choir. She was a Kentucky colonel.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Hager Robinette.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Larry Joe and Tammy Roberts of Flatwoods; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Kay and Carl Easley of Hebron; two sisters, Ruby Milam of Catlettsburg and Neva Lee White of Ashland; two grandchildren, Kristina Porter and her husband, Rob, of Cincinnati and Melissa Mitchell and her husband, Ryan, of Raceland; and a great-grandson, Ethan Porter.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel by the Rev. John Dean. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
