Lowell Quincy Adams, 82, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013, at the Community Hospice Care Center.
He was born Aug. 22, 1930, in Louisa, a son of the late Charlie and Anna Kitchen Adams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death exactly four years to the day by his loving wife of 54 years, Margie Faye Newsome Adams; five brothers, Charlie "Doc," Erskine "Babe," Milo, Bruce and Rufus Don Adams; and four sisters, Cathleen, Josie, Charlotte and Blossom.
Lowell attended Moore Street Tabernacle in Ashland. He was a lifetime member of Rush Masonic Lodge 715 F&AM. He was a member of El Hasa Shrine and retired as an inspector with the Kentucky State Department of Highways after many years of service.
The family would like to extend its sincere appreciation to the staff at Community Hospice for the kindness and care Lowell received during his final days.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, David (Maria) Adams of Ashland; daughters, Joan Moore and Diana (Wes Cope) Canfield of Ashland; three grandchildren, Brittany "Nikki" Moore, Matthew (Jessica) Canfield, and Dr. Christopher Adams; one great-grandchild, Gavin Tyler Canfield, and a host of loving extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel with Pastor Danny Pancake officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the funeral home.
