ASHLAND - Louella F. Artis, 78, of Ashland, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
She was born June 4, 1935, in Ashland, the daughter of the late William Ballard and Plina Ratliff Fields.
She was a clerk for Goodwill Industries, attended Summit Nazarene Church and was a U.S. Army veteran.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Louis Artis; three brothers, John Edward Fields, Gerald Fields and William Arnold Fields; and a sister, Virginia Slone.
She is survived by a sister, Hazel McCalvin; six brothers, Charles (Betty) Fields, Fred (Deanie) Fields, Ellis (Kay) Fields, Gerome (Susie) Fields, Eldon (Beulah) Fields and Ralph (Wilma) Fields; her loving caregiver, Janet McCalvin Hendricks of Ashland; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland.
