Lincoln "Dub" Kouns Sr., 95, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at his residence.
He was born June 9, 1917, in Ashland, a son of the late Ezra Wilson and Laura Shelton Schmauch Kouns.
Lincoln was a World War II veteran, a member of Ashland Heights Wesleyan Church and an honorary Kentucky colonel and admiral.
Lincoln was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Alma Clark Kouns; a grandson; a granddaughter; a stepgranddaughter; a stepgrandson; a son-in-law; a brother, Gerald E. Kouns; four half sisters; and four half brothers.
He is survived by 10 children, Sharon D. Worley, Mary B. (Jim) Pope, Karen L. Huffman, Lincoln W. (Bonnie)a��Kouns Jr., Carrie A. (Tom) Payne, Rebecca F. (Rick) Francis, John K. (Vicki) Kouns, Rockey K. (Diana) Kouns, Barbara J. (Ike) Blevins and Robin L. (Rick) Collins; 37 grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren; and 28 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 2, 2013, at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland, with military graveside rites by Ceredo-Kenova American Legion Post 93.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at the funeral home.
