Leonidas "Aaron" Lambert, 85, of Ashland, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born May 21, 1929, in Ashland, the son of the late Paul Aaron and Beulah Fannin Lambert.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gloria "Tody" Lambert; two sisters, Jo Ann Lambert and Geraldine Mooney; and a granddaughter, Jessica Lambert.
He was a retired welder at Armco Steel and a member of Ashland First Baptist Church. Aaron was a longtime member of Ashland Elks Lodge 350 and an early collaborator of the Ashland Elks Sports Day. He loved the outdoors, travel and sports. He was an avid University of Kentucky and Cincinnati Reds fan. He was a volunteer for various organizations throughout the community, including the Boy Scouts, Little League baseball and Community Harvest.
Survivors include two daughters, Mindy Evans and husband Danny of Madisonville and Cindy Gerrard of Tampa, Fla.; a son, Brad Lambert and wife Sharon of Raceland; six grandchildren, Joshua Gerrard, Amanda Evans, Seth Aaron (Jamie) Gerrard, Michael (Meagan) Evans, Ross Evans and Abigail Lambert; three great-grandchildren, Samantha Gerrard, Jacob Lambert Gerrard and Seth Aaron Gerrard Jr.; and a niece, Paula (Steve) Cordle of Rush.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland by the Rev. Wayne Kuhner. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
