Kathleen Adams Chandler 97 of Grayson and formerly of Ashland, passed away Saturday, February
16, 2019 at her residence.
Kathleen was born April 12th, 1921 in Denton, Kentucky to the late Edward Lee and Letha Gullett
Adams.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Gartrell Chandler. Also preceeding her in death
were her sister Geniva Ferrell (Kermit), and her brothers Calvin Adams (Lucille) and Oscar Adams
(Ramonda) along with her sons-in-law Paul Chandler and Thorval Keese.
Kathleen retired as a teacher in the Boyd County School system where she taught at Ironville
Elementary School. She was a charter member of Rose Hill Baptist Church, a member of the Retired
Teachers Association and Kentucky Education Association.
She leaves behind two sisters Helen Keese and Mary Chandler both of Grayson; a niece Katherine
“Kitty” Thompson (Jim), a niece Nancy Cogan (Bob) a niece Paula Sue Short (Joe), a nephew John
Chandler (Tammy), a niece Joy Dunn, a nephew Jim Ferrell (Georgie), and a niece Helen Rose Dowd
(David); along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 19th at Rose Hill Baptist Church
with Pastor Matt Shamblin officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be
