Joyce Moore - 1933-2010
Joyce Rankin Moore, 76, of Ironton, Ohio, formerly of Catlettsburg, passed on to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
She was born March 11, 1933, in Ashland, Ky., to the late Russell and Veatrice Lykins Rankin. She was a beautician for many years, a member of Cyrus Chapel, enjoyed playing the guitar and wrote country gospel music.
Joyce is survived by her loving family, including her husband, Charlie Moore; three sons, Mike Rankin and his wife, Jane, of Catlettsburg, Ray Sturgill and his wife, Maudie, of Catlettsburg and David Steward of Greenup; a sister, Barb Caudill of Ashland; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Roy Rankin, Russell Rankin Jr., Wally Rankin and Hubert Rankin; and sisters Deloris Rankin, Julie Belle Rankin and Betty Lou Rankin.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, at Durbin Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Everett Stevens will bring a message of comfort. Final rest will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends and family may call after noon Tuesday at the church.
