Josalene "Jean" Gullett Hall, 80, of Ashland, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 28, 1931, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Rev. Arvel F. and Ivory Wolfe Gullett.
She was alsopreceded in death by her loving husband, Harlan Hall; a son, Gregory Alan Hall; a brother, Teddy J. Gullett; a sister, Mary Elizabeth McKinney; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Gullett; and a brother-in-law, William Lower.
Jean was a 1949 graduate of Boyd County High School and was a member of American Legion Post 76's Women's Auxiliary. She retired from King's Daughters Medical Center after many years of service and was a loving mother, sister and nan nan.
Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Cheryl Blankenship and her husband, Randy, of Ashland; brothers David R. Gullett and his wife, Agnes, of Ashland, Paul Gullett of Flatwoods and Lowell F. Gullett and his wife, Sarah, of Flatwoods; a sister, Arvelena Lower of Carrollton, Texas; three grandchildren, Sara Rollins and her husband, James, Sammie Sorrell and Jason Hall and his wife, Keri, all of Ashland; two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Alyssa Hall; and a special friend, Bill Ward of Ashland.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. JR Gullett. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at the funeral home.
