The Rev. John W. Walters, 75, of Ashland, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
The Rev. Mr. Walters was born Aug. 30, 1937, in Boyd County, to the late John H. and Barbara A. Wray Walters.
He was a retired minister and a retired carpenter with AK Steel.
The Rev. Walters is survived by his wife, Janet McDowell Walters; two daughters, Johnna Walters of Ashland and Cathy Howard of Greenup; three grandchildren, Jeremy and Bill Lewis and Allison Kemper; two great-grandchildren, Kodi Lewis and Saharreh Salyers; two brothers, William Walters of Boyd County and Dr. Donald Walters of Mountain City, Tenn.; and two sisters, Idella Wallace of Grayson and Augusta Courtney of Florence.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Ashland.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland.
