John Haughton

John Wakefield Haughton, 78, of Ashland, KY passed away at the Hospice Care Center on Thursday, October 10, 2019. He was born on January 8, 1941 in Amory, MS to the late John and Ireyse Wakefield Haughton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son John Michael Haughton.
He received a degree in industrial engineering from the University of Alabama and served on their College of Engineering Advisory Board. He retired from Armco Steel Corporation as a supervising industrial engineer. Formerly he was plant manager for Armco Steel in Denver CO. After retirement from Armco, he was manager of Sonoco Wood Products in Hartselle, AL and quality control manager for Elk Roofing in Tuscaloosa, AL.
John is survived by his loving wife Sandra Addington Haughton of Ashland, KY; a son Matthew Haughton and wife Laura of Lexington, KY; a sister Mary Ella Vinson and husband Larry of Birmingham, AL and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 14 at 10:00 AM at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel and will be officiated by Chaplain Dan Godwin. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until service time at 10:00AM.
