Joesph Miniard

Joseph Miniard, 73, of Catlettsburg, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, at his residence.

He was born July 2, 1941, in Hazard, a son of the late Jack Miniard and Elsie Brewer Miniard.


In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four sisters, Gertrude, Ruth, Maryann and Nancy; and two brothers, Edward and Shade.

He was an employee of Calgon Corporation and a member of England Hill Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria D. Miniard; two sons, Eddie Joe (Barb) Miniard and Michael Ray (Teresa) Miniard; a daughter, Debra (L.J.) Moore; seven grandchildren, Kristin Ashworth, Brandon Joe Miniard, Kristin Jo Miniard, Austin Allen Miniard, Whitney Nicole Miniard, Harlee Rae Miniard and Ava Marie Moore; a sister, Christine Taylor; a brother-in-law, Bob Murphy; and his best friend, Bud Rigney.

The funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at the England Hill Free Will Baptist Church in Catlettsburg with Pastor Willie May officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today, Nov. 4, 2014, and until service hour Wednesday at the church.

Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point, Ohio, is in charge of arrangements.
