Jimmy Lenard Shelton, 71, of Ashland, died Tuesday in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born May 19, 1941, in Ulysses, to the late Edgar and Virginia Louise McClintok Shelton.
After 35 years of service, he retired as a rougher leader at Kentucky Electric Steel.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Ann Barker Shelton; sons Lt. Col. Mark Stephen and Marcia Shelton of Fort Knox, James Allen Shelton of Columbus, Ohio, and Brian Scott and Danelle Shelton of Ashland; three granddaughters, Charlotte, Samantha and Sydney; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Teresa and Richard Holly of Columbus, Tana and Larry Evans of Walhalla, S.C., and Jonda and Royce Carter of Fort Worth, Texas.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland by Pastor Tom Leach. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum in Ashland.
Friends may call an hour before services Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at the funeral home.
