Jefferson King Schaeffer, 61, of Louisa, formerly of Ashland, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018 in Ashland.
Jeff was born May 10, 1957 in Ashland, a son of the late Harry Mac Schaeffer and Elizabeth Anita Sizemore Schaeffer. Jeff was preceded in death by his birth mother Alice Clements and a son Christopher Cody Terry.
Jeff attended Centenary United Methodist Church in Ashland. He was a 1975 graduate of Paul Blazer High School. He served as President of the Morehead-Rowan County Jaycees and on the board of the Morehead Chamber of Commerce.
Jeff enjoyed coaching baseball for the Louisa-Ft. Gay Civic League and assistant coaching for the Lawrence County Lady Bulldogs High School Softball Team. He also was a certified Plumbing Inspector for the State of Kentucky.
Jeff worked for many years in plant operations at AK Steel. He managed the Superamerica store in Morehead, worked for Workman & Sons Plumbing and most recently in sales with Tri-State Industrial Supply.
Survivors include his wife Lisa Moore Schaeffer of Louisa, sons Jefferson Blake Schaeffer of Louisa, Luke Bradley Schaeffer currently stationed with the US Marines in 29 Palms, CA, his daughter Brittney Schaeffer of Pikeville, KY, brothers George William Wyatt and wife Rita of Knoxville, TN, Harry Lee Schaeffer of Ashland, sisters Hilma Harned and husband Lyndall of Ashland, Nicole Hanna of Galena, MO, his grandson Brently Schaeffer and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Monday, August 20, 2018 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th St. Chapel by Greg Caudill. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00-6:00pm and Monday prior to the service from 1:00- 2:00pm. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
