On March 6th, Jean Preston Hatcher left this world to go to her heavenly home.
Jean was born June 21, 1928, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Harry and Ruby Williams Preston.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 64 years, Robert E. "Bob" Hatcher; sister, Jackie Featherston; and a brother, Harry Preston.
She is survived by her two children Robert Hatcher (Patty) of Switzerland and Sandy VanHoose (Robbie) of Ashland; a special brother and sister-in-law who cared for her daily, Don and Jan Preston; sisters-in-laws, Betty Fosson and Susie Salyers (Roger); grandchildren, Stacy Doss (Jason) of Florida Shannon Kneisley (Ben) of Florida, Sarah Wilson (Cory) of Alexandria, Ally Hatcher and William Hatcher of Switzerland, Trey VanHoose (Ally) of Ashland, Stephen VanHoose (Sabrina) of Wheelersburg, Ohio, and Jonathan VanHoose of Ashland; great-grandchildren, Clara Jane Doss, Kinley Doss, Caleb Doss, Anna Kneisley, Brynn Kneisley, Caroline Kneisley, Aubrey Kneisley, Ella VanHoose, Kate VanHoose, Claire VanHoose, Jase VanHoose, Emily VanHoose and Nora Wilson
Jean also known as "Mom, Grammy Jean, Grams, Grandma, Grammy Hatcher and Auggie" will be missed greatly. She had a wonderful love for family.
A special thanks to Jean Crites who took great care of our mom.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel with Pastor Ken Gowin officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 1701 Winchester Avenue, Ashland, KY, 41101.
