Kyle Potter, 23, of Louisville, formerly of Ashland, died Sunday evening in Ashland.
Kyle was born July 6, 1988, in Cabell County, W.Va., a son of Richard 'Rick' Potter of Ashland and the late Tara Jo Stevens Potter. Kyle was a graduate of Boyd County High School and Alice Lloyd College, with a business degree. Kyle was a talented baseball player both in high school and in college. He worked as a customer service representative with Louisville Slugger in Louisville.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James Chillus and Billie Jean Stevens.
In addition to his father, survivors include a sister, Misty McCubbin and brother-in-law, Curtis McCubbin of Louisville; and his paternal grandparents, Bill and Patricia Potter of Ashland.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland with pastor Dicky Tiller officiating. Private interment will be at the Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
