Jackie Hunt, 83, of Ashland, died Thursday, May 23, 2013, in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
He was born April 4, 1930, in Ashland, the son of the late Thomas Franklin and Mina McIntosh Hunt.
He was retired from the maintenance department of Armco Steel and was a Korean War Army veteran and a lifetime member of the VFW.
In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kim Folmar; a brother, Thomas Franklin Hunt Jr.; and a sister, Linda Hayes. Survivors include his wife, Madlyn Thompson Hunt; three daughters, Cathy (Chuck) Hans of Worthington, Jackie (Bobby) Smith of Oldtown and Tenia (Kenny) Cochran of Flatwoods; one son, Dennis (Leigh Ann) Hunt of Flatwoods; one sister, Billie Breeze of Lexington; eight grandchildren, Joseph Stewart, Shana Blair, Amos Hunt, Maddie Hunt, Jason Stafford, Meggan Prince, Scott Smith and Chris Brewer; 10 great-grandchildren, Elijah Folmar, Ethan Folmar, Trenton Clark, Camden Stewart, Gabby Bayes, Lily Blair, Jacey Stafford, Jalyn Stafford, Shelly Anne Prince and Laney Prince.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the Rose Hill Mausoleum. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home. Military services will be conducted by the Kenova American Legion Post 93.
