J. Justin "Jack" Jordan (1922-2009)
J. Justin "Jack" Jordan, 86, of Ashland, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, in the VA Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born Feb. 24, 1922, in Boyd County, the son of the late E.W. and Ethel Waddell Jordan. He was the former owner and operator of Fannin Glass and Paint Co.; a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church, where he served on the board of directors; and a U.S. Army Air Corps pilot during World War II, flying the C-147 and gliders. He was a graduate of Marshall University, a past president of the Ashland Lions Club and a member of the Bellefonte Country Club, where he was an avid golfer and past chairman of the board of directors. Jack was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed life and his family.
In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Parsons, Bernice Gesling and Joyce Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Virginia Fannin Jordan; two daughters, Jenny Kay Aubrey and her husband, Terry, of Midway and Carole Lynette Tracy and her husband, Darrell, of Lawrenceburg; five grandsons, Brandon Ross, Justin Ross, Ben Aubrey, Spencer Aubrey and Aaron Aubrey; and three great-grandchildren, Jordan Aubrey, Taylor Ann Aubrey and Declan Ross.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland by the Rev. Gene Pillow. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
