Henry Clay Helton, 67, of Catlettsburg, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Ethel Helton; a brother, Everett Helton; and two sisters, Louise Fugate and Bessie Holbrook. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served honorably in the Vietnam conflict before being discharge in 1975. He continued to serve his country in a civilian capacity by working and retiring from the Veterans Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. A proud and lifelong native of Kentucky, he attended Kingdom Way Christian Assembly Church. He is survived by members of his family including his brother, Earnest Helton of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; his sisters, Janice (Lucian) Asbury of Ashland and Virgie (Donnie) Douglas of Ashland City, Tenn.; a host of nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. at Kingdom Way Christian Assembly Church. Burial will be at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland with military rites by Kenova American Legion Post 93. The family would like to invite you to attend a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland.
