Helen Killin

Helen Irene Killin, 75, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday evening, May 8, 2012, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

She was born Jan. 27, 1937, in Willard, the daughter of the late Clifford and Dollie Blevins Reeves. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Bayer, and a brother, Robert G. Reeves.

She was a former employee of Allied Chemical/AK Steel Coke Plant, where she worked in the accounting department. She attended Meade Station Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, Carl L. Killin of Ashland; a son, Bruce Kevin Bowling and his wife, Cheryl, of Versailles; a daughter, Kathy Ramona Prichard of Raceland; a stepson, Michael Killin and his wife, Valerie, of Houston, Texas; a stepdaughter, Melinda Gregory and her husband, Tim, of Russell; four grandchildren, Kevin Eric Bowling, Evan Alise Bowling, Trevor Andrew Prichard and Tiffani Rahyn Venoy and her husband, Max; a great-grandson, Christopher Jaxson Witt; a great-granddaughter, Rachel Renee Bowling-Tyra; a stepgranddaughter, Melissa Cyrus of Flatwoods; and three sisters, Betty Pence and her husband, Gene, of Grayson, Shirley Griffith of Olive Hill and Susan Pritchett of Baltimore, Md. Additional survivors include a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2012, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Pastor Rob Jordan. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2012, at the funeral home.
