ASHLAND - Helen L. Hayes, 79, of Ashland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

She was born Feb. 12, 1932, in Huntington, W.Va., the daughter of the late Thomas and Nellie Dennison Nance.

She was a member of the Heritage Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Allen Hayes; brothers, Charles Nance, Jessie Nance, Frank Nance, Fred Nance and Robert Nance; and sisters, Katherine Mays, Patty Cooper and Sharon Chapman.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra Kare (Davet) Matthews of Austell, Ga., and Tona Louise (Willie) Gentry of Middletown, Ohio; one son, Foster Allen (Deborah) Hayes of Ashland; one sister, Lorine Perry of Huntington; six grandchildren, James Dailey, Heather Dailey, Crystal Hayes, Joshua Hayes, Jeremiah Vires and Jacob Vires; and two great-grandchildren, Bryce Helms and Natalie Hayes.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland by the Rev. Ed Cook. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
